Which Orthodontic Treatment Should I Get?

Are you interested in beginning orthodontic care but need help figuring out where to start? Don’t worry! Beim Orthodontics is here to help! We understand there is much to learn regarding your oral health needs and figuring out which orthodontic treatment you should get, but let us break it down for you. We are here to share with you the care we provide at our office, your treatment options, and what to keep in mind when making your decision.

Expert Orthodontic Care

Specializing in helping you achieve the smile you deserve, orthodontists diagnose, treat, and prevent teeth and jaw misalignment. Professionals like Dr. Beim spent over a decade training to help patients like you keep their oral health in check and protected against common orthodontic complications, such as malocclusion, protruding teeth, bite issues, crowding and more. At Beim Orthodontics, we do so with the help of various treatments to accommodate the different lifestyles of our community.

Your first appointment is recommended to be around age seven to have an early look at your teeth and potential incoming issues before they become more severe. As suggested by the American Association of Orthodontics, our team can monitor your teeth as you grow older so we can help you undergo straightforward treatments.

Treatments Options Available

Clear Aligners

An excellent option for those looking to work on their teeth without the prominent appearance of metal braces, clear aligners can effectively achieve the results you are looking for. Our practice proudly offers both Invisalign and Spark clear aligners. We provide you with a series of clear trays you switch out every two weeks as your teeth shift into the next tray.

To stay on track with treatment, they must be worn for at least 22 hours daily. No brackets or wires are involved in this care option, so you don’t need to worry about food restrictions or taking extra steps during daily oral health care routines!

Clear Braces

A great aesthetic option for those looking to work on their smile without a flashy appearance, clear braces use nearly invisible tooth-colored ceramic brackets affixed to your teeth. They appear similar to metal braces, providing stunning results in potentially less time than other options with the same reliability.

The slight pressure on your jaw and teeth shifts them over a long period until they reach ideal alignment. Clear braces provide a comfortable feel inside your mouth, so you don’t have to worry about agitation due to friction against your lips, gums, and cheeks.

Damon Smile

Damon Smile is a metal braces option utilizing a self-ligating bracket system. Self-ligating simply means they don’t require elastic bands, allowing for a smoother experience. Even more efficient than traditional braces, they offer the latest orthodontic advances and are more comfortable than ever.

This innovative option allows fewer appointments so you can enjoy more time outside of the treatment chair, reduced friction for fewer sores inside your mouth, and efficient tooth movement, helping you reach your smile goals faster.

Carriere Motion Appliance

If you are looking to fix bite issues, Beim Orthodontics additionally provides the carriere motion appliance. This is an essential first step for some before beginning braces or clear aligner treatment. Our team will affix a metal band to your upper teeth and place pressure on them with the help of an elastic attached to your bottom teeth.

It is similar in function to headgear in that it pushes your teeth back to achieve the first phase toward a perfect smile. However, it is much smaller and much more comfortable, thanks to advancements in orthodontics.

Choosing the Best Treatment For You

Fixed Vs. Removable Appliance

To help accommodate the different lifestyles of our patients, we provide the option of choosing a fixed or a removable appliance. The former will stay in your mouth for the entirety of the treatment, and you need to make some changes to your routine in order to keep it in perfect condition.

On the other hand, removable appliances offer more freedom, though patients must keep track of removing and cleaning them during meal time. Our team will be happy to share more details with you during your free consultation and answer any questions you may have about the difference.

Average Treatment Length

Your time wearing an orthodontic appliance varies due to many factors, including your smile goals, age, current oral health, and your choice of appliance. On average, you can expect to wear braces or aligners for one to three years. Some patients take shorter or longer than this timespan, depending on the severity of their case. When you visit Dr. Beim for your free consultation, he can give you a better idea of your specific case.

Fitting Your Budget

We understand pursuing orthodontic care can be stressful, so we do our best to make your time with us as financially stress-free as possible by keeping our services as an option for everyone in our community. Our team will happily discuss flexible payment plan choices that fit your budget.

During this time, you can also inquire about dental insurance. We proudly accept many Florida insurance plans, including Ameritas Group, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dental Dental, Cigna, and many more. Visit our Insurance and Finances page to learn more! If you don’t see your insurance policy listed, feel free to contact our offices, and one of our friendly front desk staff will be happy to provide more information.
